The venue

Lindesay House is an elegant 1830s mansion with beautiful gardens. It is a National Trust of Australia heritage house and a working museum furnished with antiques. You are invited to take some time out during the reception to wander through the house and grounds, including downstairs in the old kitchens and larder. It's well worth it and we encourage you to take full advantage of this romantic old house.

House rules

As this is a heritage listed house in a residential neighbourhood (with some uptight neighbours by the sound of things) there a few house rules:

  • Everyone must leave the house by 10pm
  • No food and drink inside the house
  • We can't have the music too loud (there is a no amplified music rule)

A note to parents: As mentioned on our 'save the date' flyer, it may be best if you leave your little ones with a sitter for the day. This way not only can you relax, have a drink and enjoy the day but it will also ensure that 150 year old crockery and glassware remains safe from little hands! Of course, this doesn't apply to mums with newborns, especially if you need to breastfeed.
